Lapierre’s Cheapshot On Nichol

Lapierre’s Cheapshot On Nichol

If you missed the late game (10:30 PM EST) between the Habs and Sharks you probably missed Maxim Lapierre blantantly push the Sharks’ Scott Nichol from behind after he took a shot on a breakaway. It was both a hit-from-behind and boarding.

In the video below, you’ll notice that Chris Lee, the referee right there, doesn’t make a call. He barely even flinches. That’s downright outrageous and should be looked at by league officials. It wouldn’t surprise me if Lee has made several calls from center ice on plays going on downlow and yet he feels this does not garner any type of infraction.

TSN’s Ray Ferraro calls the hit a “complete lack of respect” for the player. I can’t agree more.
