Flash Entertainment Purchases 10% of Zuffa

The Abu Dhabi-owned Flash Entertainment has bought 10% of the UFC’s parent company Zuffa this week. This is huge for the UFC branching into countries like Korea and China with Abu Dhabi’s influence over them. UFC 112 will be held in Abu Dhabi and there have been rumors that it may be an outdoor event. The card for 112 is supposed to look like this (none have been confirmed):

  • Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort
  • BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edgar
  • Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie

UFC on Versus 1

The UFC makes its debut on Versus on March 21st with a card that is stacked for a “free event”. There are currently 8 rumored bouts:

  • Jon Jones vs. Brandon Vera
  • Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
  • John Howard vs. Anthony Johnson
  • Clay Guida vs. Sean Sherk
  • Spencer Fisher vs. Duane Ludwig
  • James Irvin vs. Alessio Sakara
  • Eliot Marshall vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
  • Chase Gormley vs. Brendan Schaub

Dan Henderson Gets His Opponent

Former UFC middleweight Dan Henderson says he is set to face Jake Shields in the April event for Strikeforce. Dan, as he should, immediately gets a top opponent after recently signing with the California-based promotion. Strikeforce has not confirmed this fight yet.
