Hey Stan, I know it’s hard to keep your composure after you lose when you’re such a short fused little man, but try not to knock the Christmas games. Here are a few of the comments made by the pornstar look-a-like following the Magic’s afternoon game loss to the Boston Celtics:
“I actually feel sorry for people who have nothing to do on Christmas Day other than watch an NBA game,” the Orlando Magic coach said.
Really Stan? Some fans really enjoy this game and you know, it is Christmas. Basketball tickets are a popular gift at this time of year. A lot of people might actually want to see the Orlando Magic play the Boston Celtics on Christmas day with them being two of the top teams in the NBA. Let’s just hope they weren’t sitting too close to your bench so they didn’t have to hear your whining voice for two and a half hours. Oh, and if you think watching the game on TV means someone has “nothing better to do”, then I don’t even know where to begin with how ridiculous that is.
Van Gundy feels the day is best spent with family. He woke up early but managed to spend only about 15 minutes with his wife and four children. They went to church services the day before.
As if the Van Gundy family is the only family across the world that had to rearrange their normal Christmas routines for other things. Some families open their gifts at midnight, others might just wake up even earlier. Some fathers have to spend the entire day at work and don’t even get to spend a second with their wife and kids on Christmas morning.
Rivers said it’s tough for players to be away from family, but he realizes the league is not going to stop playing on the holidays. Rivers lives in the Orlando area and was able to wake up Christmas morning in his own bed.
I show no pity to players making absurd amounts of money to spend a chunk of their Christmas day playing a game they love where they are idolized by their fans. Like I said above, some people are at work for a full nine hour shift on Christmas day just to make ends meet.
A good friend of mine’s dad worked from 4 a.m. on Christmas until about noon. His family waited until he was home to open gifts and enjoy the holiday. You know what he did after the fuss was over with? He opened a beer, sat on his couch, and watch the Celtics beat the Magic.

This was greatly written, I respect everything you’ve said in this article. I think Stan is a little butthurt that his team got that ass tapped on Christmas day. If the Magic won on their homecourt against the Celtics, who didn’t have Paul Pierce he would have been a little happier.
